An awareness program on disaster mitigation & fire mock drill was conducted at SJNS Jain Matriculation Hr. Sec. School. Students of Class IX, X, XI and XII along with teachers participated in the program.
Facilitators: Mr. Mahendran (Station Officer) and Mr. Shankar Lakshmanan (Writer) from Triplicane Fire Station led the session with demonstrations and interactive activities.
Students learned about disasters caused by the five natural elements — cyclone, flood, earthquake, Tsunami and forest fire. A hands-on mock drill covered fire extinguishing using extinguishers, sand, water and blankets. First aid techniques were also covered.
